Attraction in Men and Women

What is it about men women find most attractive and

What is it about women men find most attractive?

Men to women:

Wearing less make up! This may seem weird because most women tend to wear make up to beautify themselves! A lot of times though, they may possibly go overboard with the eye-shadow or lipstick. The point of make up is to enhance your natural features, this meaning you still look like yourself! While women may think that men prefer them dolled up, it actually is the opposite. It was recently proven in an experiment, that men would prefer women with 40% less make up than they were wearing. This doesn’t mean women shouldn’t wear make up, but maybe try a toned down look like the “no make-up” make up look!

Confidence. This is a tough one because its very rare to come across a women that is 100% satisfied with herself. Apparently, men find confident women more secure. This is because they know exactly who they are and are comfortable in their own skin. One of the things that men value the most is that a confident women is not only the confidence that they have with themselves, but also confidence in their relationship. This is because they are usually less jealous, and also not really needing for the constant reassurance that they are loved.

More attributes: Decisiveness, Patience, Someone whose optimistic, hourglass figure……

Women to men:

Not to sound superficial, but height matters. Did you know that apparently back in the caveman days women were said to be evolutionary geared to gravitate towards taller men, this was mainly due to the need for physical protection. While its not really necessary now, this evolutionary programming of the mind has basically stuck with the female mind where they would instinctually prefer a taller man. It was recently discovered that women tend to want a man who towers over them because it fits to the gender stereotypes and makes them feel secure, delicate and protected. Also, most of our world’s cultures regard tall men as embodiments of all that is masculine. So what if you aren’t that blessed with height? It doesn’t really matter, as long as your taller than the women.

Intelligence! By intelligence, it doesn’t mean being super book smart where you have a bunch of degrees. Being intelligent can also mean being social intelligence where you may just know random facts, or in the simplest form is able to carry a conversation of some intellectual level. After all, no one wants to talk to someone who can share valuable opinions. Even having a good sense of humour is seen as a form of intelligence. Intelligence can be very attractive but remember to use it the right way. If you are “book smart”, try to use it in a humble way, where you throw cool and fun facts/ideas at her.

More attributes: Someone who pays attention to the “smaller” details, a sense of humour, someone who listens, a sense of fun, passion and ambition……

Health and Balance

Most people these days strive to be “slim and toned”. This is mostly due to today’s society claiming that “slim and toned” is basically the sign of modern beauty. What does being “slim and toned” actually mean though? Does it mean that your healthy? Does it mean that your happy? Does it mean that your diet is on point? Does it mean to achieve this so called standard, we all have to calorie count? The truth is, you can be slim, toned but you could also be one of those people mistreating your body just to achieve a body that society deems “worthy”. There is no such thing as “the perfect diet”, but it’s important to treat our bodies right. If you put the right things in, you will be able to do whatever it is you want to do to your best ability.

You can almost say that the diet industry has somewhat fooled the population. These fad diets, while may have a quick fix, is almost impossible to maintain. Yes, you might get to your desired weight, but how long will you be able to keep it up? It’s kind of frustrating because it actually is a very simple equation. The key to a healthy, happy life is BALANCE. For the most part, aim to eat foods provided by mother nature. Fruit, Vegetables, Whole grains, Legumes should be eaten in abundance, they’re packed with nutrients and could be enjoyed on a regular basis. Foods like meat and dairy should be carefully monitored. Enjoy it, but maybe 1-2 portions a day. Finally, there is always that one guilty pleasure, it may be ice cream, French fries, burgers… You still can eat it, in fact you should enjoy it, but just maybe once a week. View it like a treat and feel no regret after!

While eating the “right” foods is important, it is just as important to move. Whether it is a power walk for 10 minutes or swimming for an hour, any workout is better than none. Not only will it make it much easier to maintain weight but it has a number of benefits.

1. It improves moods. When you exercise, your body stimulates brain chemicals which release endorphins, giving you the best high you could ever possibly get.

2. Improves your self esteem and promotes positive self-image.

3. It’s a good way to de-stress.

4. It promotes better sleep. Regular exercise can help you fall asleep faster and deepen your slumber.

5. It’s fun. Imagine going with a friend and just playing basketball. It’s like your just spending time together with the additional benefits. With so many benefits, why not give it a quick go, just aim for about 30 mins everyday!

Food For Thought…Literally

You may not realize it, but eating healthy and thinking healthy are the parallel frames that support a healthy life. Everybody knows that eating right and getting enough exercise is key to keeping your body healthy, but what about your mind?

Stress, lack of sleep and most of all – negativity, are all factors that can not only drain you mentally, but can affect you physically as well – regardless of what shape you’re in. People always find something to complain about – from the Monday morning traffic to the weather, and it’s this negativity that can affect your diet and weight. When you think negative thoughts, you’re flooding your body with adrenaline and cortisol – hormones that cause you to go into ‘survival mode’ and make you store extra weight.

Thinking negatively also means you’re more likely to feel depressed, which is when most of the comfort eating occurs. Furthermore, holding onto negative emotions like anger and fear can also be incredibly exhausting! You may find yourself ‘too tired’ to go for your morning runs, or even to get out of bed. You’ll find that it doesn’t really matter how many celery sticks you eat, because if your mind’s not healthy – neither are you! So if you really want to fit into those size 10 jeans, the answer to your problems might just be to think positively. ‘Lips to your hips?’ More like ‘Mind to your behind!’

Mind Body Connection

Ever heard of someone complaining about a headache when they’re stressed? It may seem strange but this happens because of the mind body connection. Mind Body Connection means that there is a link between our emotions and our physical body; where our minds affect how healthy are biological functions. Our thoughts, feelings, beliefs and attitudes can either impact our body in a positive or negative manner. Doctors have evaluated the connection between our mental and physical health for a long time. Until the 1800s, most believed that emotions were linked to disease and when one was sick, they often advised them to visit spas or seaside resorts when they were ill. However as medicine started healing everything, people started dismissing the idea. Today, we accept that there is a powerful mind-body connection through. In fact some specialists say that the mind and body are inseparable.

Many things can happen in your life that cause stress and affect your emotional health. These things could be being fired, going through a divorce, having to study for a stressful exam, dealing with a death of a loved one. During these anxious times, your body is trying to communicate with you, it’s trying to inform you that something is wrong. So lets say your dealing with a divorce, there could be a chance of getting high blood pressure, or during studying for an exam, you could get a headache. Here are some other symptoms that could show that there is some sort of emotional trauma going on within:

  • Constipation or diarrhea
  • Extreme tiredness
  • Aches and pains
  • Headaches
  • High blood pressure
  • Insomnia (trouble sleeping)
  • Palpitations (the feeling that your heart is racing)
  • Sexual problems
  • Shortness of breath
  • Weight gain or loss

If your experiencing the symptoms above, it could be because of an emotional crisis. On the bright side though, there is such a thing as mind-body medicine/treatment. Mind-body medicine focuses on treatments that may promote health, including relaxation, hypnosis, visual imagery, meditation, yoga, and biofeedback. More techniques include prayer, support groups, tai chi. Just for the peace of mind, it’s always important to do something that relaxes you! Always find something you enjoy doing!

Lose 10lbs Instantly!

For those eager to look thin NOW, the fastest and most dynamic approach is to learn the techniques of camouflage, which covers up any unwanted padding and accentuates your assets.

Below are 6 creative techniques mastered by image professionals:

1. Restrict the amount of color worn. A blouse and skirt or pants of one color with a contrasting jacket is a great way to achieve an effect with color that streamlines the body.

2. Wear garments with strong vertical lines.Vertical lines create an elongating effect and can be used as part of the fabric design, or have fun combining this feature with the style of your outfit with pleats, seaming, and jacket edges.

3. Avoid clutter. Reduce frills, ruffles, front button blouses, gathers and bulky scarves – they just add volume!

4. Cover-up the area that you want to de-emphasize. Conscious of a large hip or stomach?Cover it with a simple garment ending just below the widest part so the eye just sees the thinner and more desirable bits.

5. Show off your skinny bits. No matter what we think of our bodies we all naturally have slim features, namely our wrists, ankles, earlobes, waist and neck.

6. Wear well fitted garments. When trying on clothes don’t be afraid to sit down or walk around as you would normally. Wear soft body fabrics such as wool crepe, wool jersey, silk blends and cotton for basic garments.

A combination of these techniques can make you look up to 10lbs thinner! So enjoy dressing up, looking lighter and feeling fabulous!

Make-up Trends for Fall/Winter 2015

It’s finally that time of year where a matte face, purple lip is back in! Not to say that the whole “strobing trend” for the summer was a bore but it’s a good time for a dramatic transition. This fall/winter, the 90’s make up look has been gradually creeping back in, the interesting thing is we are taking the 90’s grungy look and adding a sultry modern twist to it. Here are 3 fall/winter trends for 2015!!

1. Matte foundation

A matte foundation makes your skin look velvety smooth and polished without any shiny spots. There is basically no glow or shine. (although if you wanted a slight glow, feel free to use any type of illuminator to the high points of your face) Good news is that wearing a matte base also allows you to get away with more on either your eyes or your lips! Before applying a matte foundation, remember to wear a thick layer of moisturizer! This helps your face stay hydrated throughout the day. Another tip is try to stay away from translucent powder because they can cake really easily. Try to use something clear which mattifies your skin, this not only helps you stay matte but also doesn’t seep into fine lines causing the illusion of a younger look!

2. Brown/plum lip

This is mainly the reason why everyone is saying the “90’s look” is coming back. From celebrities like Kylie Jenner to Rihanna, the trend is starting to be an everyday fall/winter make up trend. To make the lip pop, try to have a minimalistic face and eye look, this draws all the attention to the lip. Here are some tips to getting that perfect pout! 1. Using a lip liner on its own can make a beautiful matte lip colour, also you won’t have to touch up as much because they last really long! (Just remember to prep your lips before to keep them moisturized) If your using a lipstick, use a dark brown lip shade with a slight bit of plum, this makes it seem more dimensional, and also try to use a lip liner to make it fuller and sharper! A great product for a lip liner is the Jane Irredale “Sienna” lip pencil, you can also pair that with the “Sharon” puremoist lipstick!

3. Cat eye (liner)

Knowing how to draw the perfect cat eyeliner can be very flattering for most eye shapes. It’s very sultry and the best thing is that it can be paired with any lip colour, or with a brown neutral smoky eye look. What’s also great about this trend is that there are no rules! You can be really creative and artistic about what you think flatters your face most. For example, you can decide to draw one thick line, or go for a look with multiple thin lines, you can even take the liner and connect it with the lower lash line to make it more dramatic! If your looking for a great liner, try out Jane Irredale’s liquid eyeliner! It easiest to use as the liquid liner is easier to control!
