Overcome Social Anxiety
Social Anxiety (also known as social phobia) is an irrational and uncontrollable fear to social situations. It usually starts off with discomfort in a particular group or society and eventually leads to anxiety of all situations of social contact.
Social anxiety causes fears in everyday situations such as:
- Attending parties and social gatherings(both small and large)
- Meeting anyone new
- Walking down a crowded street
- Standing in a queue
- Attending meetings
- Going to a restaurant
Those who live with social anxiety have a fear of behaving in a manner in which they will be judged. In extreme cases it can lead to a withdrawal from any social contact. Feelings of anxiousness, low self-worth, self-doubt and isolation are common to sufferers.
The root cause of this is not feeling accepted, and thus a sever fear of being judged. Very often this fear stems from an experience in the past which you may or may not be aware of. Hypnotherapy is effective therapy to identify the cause and release the trauma attached to it. This helps you to slowly drop the protective wall they have built up and feel safe in social situations. During the process you will find that you will enhance your self-esteem, self- acceptance, confidence and have some effective tools to stay calm in social arenas.
How The Process Works:
The First Session:
Our first role is to clearly identify your objective and gain some background on the issue. All behavior is governed by beliefs, and we work with the beliefs you have accumulated in the subconscious mind that are holding you back. During the session you will learn how the mind works, and discover beliefs that you have that are supporting you and sabotaging you towards achieving your goal. We will end with a tailor-made guided meditation that you can take home and listen to for the next few weeks.
Each session comprises of several healing techniques, hypnotherapy, visualisations and exercises to release the disempowering beliefs and experiences from your subconscious mind. We believe that this journey is a partnership between you and the therapist, and will be giving you simple exercises to do for homework so you can maintain the shifts at home and create lasting change together.
Each session takes between 60-90 minutes, with the exception of the first session that includes a case history and is approximately 90 minutes.
